UNEP outlines investment strategies to reduce water scarcity

A report by the United Nation Environment Programme (UNEP) said an annual investment of US$ 198 billion, or 0.16 per cent of global gross domestic product (GDP), in the water sector could reduce water scarcity and halve the number of people without sustainable access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation in less than four years.
