Lassina Zerbo from Burkina Faso is the director of the International Data Centre Division, United Nations Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO ) in Vienna, Austria.
Born on 10 October 1963, he holds a BsC.(Honours), Fundamental and Applied Geology, from Universite de Caen (Normandie, France), 1988, an MsC. Geophysics, Universite Paris VI (Paris-France) 1989 and a Ph.D, Geophysics, Universite de Paris XI, (Orsay-France) 1993
He has held various positions including research geophysicist at the Institut de Recherche et Developement-Bondy & Paris VI 1989-1993, research geophysicist at Geoterrex & Geological survey of Canada, Ottawa 1992-1993.
He was also a geophysicist at BHP Minerals Exploration, Herndon, Virginia, United States of America, 1994-1995 and also as senior geophysicist, West Africa, Anglo American Prospecting Services 1995-1997.
He was also section geophysicist Central Africa, Copper belt, Zambia (Anglo American) 1997-1999 divisional geophysicist Central and East Africa (Anglo American) 1999-2000 and divisional principal geophysicist Africa, Johannesburg, South Africa 2001-2004.
Zerbo has been the director of the International Data Centre Division, Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO PrepCom) in Vienna since November 2004.
