The Kenya based Training Centre in Communication (TCC) has opened a Nigeria office at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in South-West Nigeria to promote and build capacity in scientific communication in West Africa.
The centre is expected to train research scientists and postgraduate students from the Western Africa sub-region on scientific communication.
Prof. Biodun Adediran, the Director Linkages and Sponsored Research at Obafemi Awolowo University says that the development is a very useful partnership, which, will help build capacity in scientific communication in West Africa.
The first course to be facilitated at the centre in September would be on Scientific Writing and Publishing and Oral Communication and Presentation.
TCC, a not for profit organization set up in 2006 and is in partnership with the University of Nairobi, is said to have trained over six hundred research scientists at a post graduate level from seventy national and international research institutes including universities from ten countries.
